Hindi tama ayon sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang umano’y sinasabing pagbawas sa budget ng University of the Philippine- Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) para sa 2023.
Sa statement ng Budget Department, sinabi ni DBM Undersecretary Goddes Libiran na maling ikumpara ang 2023 National Expenditure Program sa 2022 General Appropriations Act.
Ang umano’y ₱2.5 billion na naibawas sa 2023 National Expenditure Program kumpara sa budget ng UP nuong 2022 ay dahil na rin aniya sa upward adjustments na ginawa ng Kamara sa 2022 General Appropriations Act.
Ito ay para sa iba’t ibang capital outlay projects na nakalaan sa infrastructure projects at pagbili hospital equipment ng PGH na ani Libiran ay one-time o non-recurring expenditures.
Siniguro ng DBM, mananatiling highest budgetary priority ng administration education sector batay na rin sa itinatakda ng konstitusyon na 8.2 percent increase sa proposed Fiscal Year 2023 National Expenditure Program.
