Inatasan na ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) na tumulong sa local health authorities sa pagpapatupad ng Oplan Kalinga program ng pamahalaan.
Paliwanag ni DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, may health personnel at kagamitan ang Emergency Medical Service (EMS) at special rescue units ng BFP para ilipat ang mga COVID-19 patient.
Aniya, nakapag-deploy na ang BFP ng 98 EMS ambulance, 35 rescue/hazmat vehicles, 970 fire trucks at 114 service vehicles para sa COVID-19 response.
Pinalakas din nito ang contact tracing efforts bilang bahagi ng local contact tracing teams.
