Kinumpirma ni Department of Transportation o DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade na aprobado na Emergency cash assistance para sa public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers.
Ito ay matapos anya lagdaan kahapon ang Joint Memorandum of Agreement ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Land Transportation Franchising at Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and Landbank of the Philippines (LBP).
Ayon kay Tugade kasama dito ang mga driver ng UV Express, Public Utility Bus (PUB), Point-to-Point Bus (P2P), Taxi, Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS), School Transport, and Motorcycle (MC) Taxis.
Pahayag niya na layunin nito na mabigayan ng ayudang pinansyal ang mga drivers na nawalan ng trabaho at kita ng dahil sa pag suspende ng mass transport services ng dahil naman sa pagpatupad enhanced community quarantine sa Luzon bunsod ng outbreak ng Coronavirus Diseases 2019 o COVID-19 sa bansa.
Ang LTFRB naman anya ay inatasan na kolektahin ang mga pangalan ng drivers at ibibigay sa DSWDÂ upang kompara sa listahan ng beneficiaries ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
