Also known by his stage name, “Maric”, found his passion for music as a kid. He plays several musical instruments such as guitar, drums, and ukulele.
What really captured his interest in playing music was when he found the song “River Flows In You” by Yimura and learned to play by ear as he can’t read notes. At the age of 14, Maric used to write jingles and wrote his first Visayan song in college titled “Sagbot”.
Motivated by the amount of support he received after posting his first song online, he didn’t stop until he was able to get 29 thousand views which became a turning point in his music career. He got discovered and was invited to perform on local events.
His first single “Ampalaya” was released with the help of Muzikscool on Valentine’s Day of this year.
Because of his talent in songwriting, many doors have opened for him and he was chosen to be one of the 20 Mindano fellows for the PhilPop Mindanao Bootcamp 2018 under Mr. Ryan Cayabyab.
