Ilocos Norte Gov’t boosts response to ASF hard-hit farmers

iFM Laoag – The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte has alloted Php 5.3 million for recovery assistance to African Swine Fever affected farmers in the province.

Governor Matthew J. Marcos Manotoc led the distribution of recovery assistance to ASF-hit farmers in the City of Batac and Municipality of Paoay on October 11, 2021. The said LGUs insurance packages aren’t covered under the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC).

Meanwhile, an additional Php 8 Million is on the process as a Supplemental Budget for the same cause approved by Governor Manotoc.


From the time when the ASF affected the province, the Provincial Veterinary (PVET) Office has already docketed nearly 900 affected hog-raisers, and has culled 7000 pigs throughout Ilocos Norte. |via Bernard Ver
