iFM NEWS LAOAG – The Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC), led by General Manager Perry Martinez, has sent a team of 7 linemen to assist in the restoration efforts of Pangasinan 1 Electric Cooperative (PANELCO I) in the aftermath of Typhoon Emong. This initiative was sparked by GM Martinez’s conversation with PANELCO I’s GM Jojo Segundera on July 25, 2025, following Ilocos Norte’s narrow escape from the typhoon’s impact.
According to GM Martinez, “This is INEC’s way of expressing gratitude for sparing Ilocos Norte from the typhoon’s devastating effects.” The deployment of INEC’s team was a voluntary effort to show support and solidarity with their fellow cooperative, PANELCO I, which was severely affected by the typhoon.
PANELCO I’s GM Segundera expressed his heartfelt appreciation to INEC, saying, “We’re grateful to GM Perry and INEC for being the first to offer help. Despite also being affected by the typhoon, GM Perry didn’t hesitate to lend a hand.” The team will assist in the pole erection for PANELCO I’s backbone lines serving the City of Alaminos and 8 other municipalities. | via Bernard Ver, RMN News
