iFM News Laoag – Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc announced on his Facebook page the low rates of the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative for the year 2023.
The rates were classified according to Residential, Low Voltage, and Higher Voltage. Comparing December 2023 to January 2024 billings, there is a decrease of 1.9019 pesos per kilowatt hour – one of the biggest margins from the previous INEC administration.
Acting INEC General Manager Cipriano E. Martinez III said that the decrease in the electric bills is a result of the joint efforts of the National Electrification Administration (NEA) together with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte through Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc. “Our target is to bring down the cost of power rates to single digit by the first quarter of 2024,” he added. ### Bernard Ver, RMN News
