Manila, Philippines – Ipinasakamay na ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency sa mga taong umampon ang 19 na retired narcotic detection dogs na matagal nang panahon na nagsilbi sa ahensiya.
Ginawa ito ng PDEA sa isang simpleng seremonya sa PDEA K9 Unit Facility sa Sitio Lambakin, barangay Sto Cristo ,San Jose Del Monte City Bulacan.
Kabilang sa mga retired narcotic detection dogs na ipinaampon ay ang 14 na Belgian( malinwa) mallinois, isang Dutch Shepherd,2 Jack Russel Terrier, 1 golden retriever at isang geeman Shepherd.
Ayon kay Pdea Spokesperson Derrick Carreon, lahat ng umampon ay nakatugon sa mga requirements sa ilalim ng Standard Operating Procedure ng PDEA K9 unit.
Ang mga adopted dogs ay ginamit ng pdea sa anti illegal drug operations sa mga jail facilities, search and siezures, checkpoint operations sa ibat ibang seaports at airports sa buong bansa.
