Matapos ang kanilang deliberasyon sa Supreme Court (SC) nitong Martes, Abril 18, 2023.
Nagpalabas ang Korte Suprema ng Writ of Kalikasan sa petisyon ng Magsasaka at Siyentipiko para sa Pag-unlad ng Agrikultura (Masipag).
Layon nito na pigilan ang pagpapalabas sa merkado ng genetically modified rice and eggplant products.
Pinagsusumite rin ng Supreme Court ng verified return sa loob ng 10 araw ang respondents.
Kabilang sa respondents sa petisyon ang mga kalihim ng Department of Agriculture (DA), Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Health (DOH), Director ng Bureau of Plant Industry of the Department of Agriculture (DA), at ang Philippine Rice Research Institute, gayundin ang University of the Philippines – Los Baños (UPLB)
Noong October 12, 2022, naghain ng petisyon sa Korte Suprema ang petitioners sa pangunguna ng MASIPAG, para hilingin ang pagpapalabas ng petition for Writ of Kalikasan and Continuing Mandamus (With Prayer for Issuance of Temporary Environmental Protection Order).
Layon nito na patigilin ang respondents sa pag- propagate ng Golden Rice at ng eggplant hangga’t hindi napapatunayan na ligtas ito sa kalusugan ng publiko.
