Sa Twitter post ng Department of Affairs (DFA) nitong Miyerkules, ibinahagi nito ang memorandum na isinumite ng Philippine Embassy sa China kay Sec. Teodoro Locsin Jr. kung saan nakalagay ang ilang bahagi ng apology letter ng may-ari ng naturang barko.

Narito ang ilang nakasaad sa sulat:
“The shipowner of the Chinese fishing boat involved, through our association, would like to express his sincere apology to the Filipino fishermen.”
“We believe that, although this accident was an unintentional mistake of the Chinese fishermen, the Chinese fishing boat should however take the major responsibility in the accident. The Philippine side is requested to file a specific appeal for civil compensation based on the actual loss.”
Magugunitang binangga ng Chinese fishing vessel ang FB Gem-Vir 1, lulan ang 22 mangingisda mula sa Occidental Mindoro. Nailigtas ang mga Pilipino sa tulong ng Vietnamese fishermen matapos iwanan sa laot ng bumanggang Instik.
