Nilinaw ng Department of Health (DOH) na kailangan pa ring sumunod ng mga indibidwal na nabakunahan ng COVID-19 vaccines na sumunod pa rin sa travel protocols ng gobyerno.
Ayon kay Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, hindi pa rin exempted ang mga vaccinated individuals mula sa travel restrictions na itinakda ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
“We get more data as the vaccines are rolled out or administered to a growing number of individuals, but right now the policy of the IATF based on the recommendation of experts, they will continue to follow on these existing protocols. They will not be exempt just because they have been vaccinated, because as earlier pointed it is not yet clear nor there is sufficient body of evidence that showed the vaccines can actually prevent the transmission,” ani Duque.
Iginiit ni Duque, hindi pa sapat ang mga ebidensya na mapipigilan ng bakuna ang viral transmission.
Para kay Dr. Edsel Salvana ng DOH-Technical Advisory Group, kailangan ng Pilipinas na magkaroon ng transmission blocking vaccine para luwagan ang travel restrictions.
