Manila, Philippines – Kasunod ng layuning ipatupad ang Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) na layuning bigyan ang riding public ng ligtas, komportable at environment-friendly public transportation.
Inilunsad ngayong araw ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang Public Transport Modernization Expo: Modernong Sasakyan, Progresibong Bayan sa Philippine Convention Center (PICC) Forum sa Pasay City.
Ang Expo ay nagpapakita ng ibat ibang klase ng prototype modern PUVs at ipapaliwanag din dito ang kahalagahan at benepisyo nito sa kapwa commuters at operators.
Nanguna sa nasabing aktibidad si DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, kasama sina DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transportation and Infrastructure Thomas Orbos, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Chairman Atty. Martin B. Delgra III, at Land Transportation Office Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante.
Tampok sa Expo ang (5) low-floor Public Utility Buses, (20) PUVs (Classes 2 and 3), at (3) e-tricycles.
