Naga City: National Literacy Awards Top Contender

Sharing Mayor John Bongat’s fb post:
“IT WAS ANNOUNCED LAST NIGHT, after my presentation at Avenue Convention Center, that Naga City has qualified again as one of only 5 finalists in the country’s prestigious National Literacy Awards. The announcement, however, as to which city in the country gets the top spot will be made during the awarding rites in Baguio City on Sept. 6. Thank you to the City’s Education, Scholarships and Sports Office, especially the Barangay Literacy Workers, DepEd Naga especially their ALS mobile teachers, literacy volunteer teachers and instructional managers, the City’s Educare Division, the CSWD, the CHO, CAgO, Metropeso, GNP and all implementors of programs of the city govt’s HELP ur CiTy Agenda since I became Mayor in 2010. These programs have resulted in Naga’s increased basic literacy and functional capacity and productivity, elevating Naga in the consistent top 2 spot for 2 times in a row since 2014 in this biennial awards. Please pray that Naga get the top spot this time! Thanks and God bless!”
