Target ng pamahalaan na makakuha ng 2,000 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds para sa severe at critical COVID-19 patients sa Metro Manila sa harap ng surge ng COVID-19 infections.
Ayon kay National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 Chief Implementer at Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr., ang National Capital Region (NCR) ay mayroong 1,395 ICU beds.
Nasa 605 na karagdagang ICU beds pa aniya ang kailangan.
Inilatag ni Galvez ang listahan ng mga pasilidad na kasama sa pagpapatupad ng expansion projects para tumanggap ng COVID-19 cases.
– 110 beds (Quezon Institute) – moderate at severe cases
– 960 beds (National Center for Mental Health) – moderate cases
– 300 beds (Manila Times College – Subic) – mild at asymptomatic
– 166 beds (New Clark City, Tarlac) – mild at asymptomatic
– 200 beds (Eva Macapagal Terminal – Manila) – mild at asymptomatic
– 100 beds (Orion Bataan Port Terminal) – mild at symptomatic
– 280 hotel beds (Oplan Kalinga ng Philippine General Hospital, East Avenue Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, at Lung Center of the Philippines)
– 20 dialysis beds (National Kidney and Transplant Institute)
– 88 beds sa isang modular hospital sa LCP
Sinabi ni Galvez na makakalikha ito ng 1,178 beds para sa moderate at severe cases at 1,045 additional beds para sa mild at asymptomatic patients.
