Ginaduso karun ni Senator Win Gatchalian ang bill nga nagadumili sa mga Telecommunication Companies nga i-lock ang anuman nga mobile devices sa ila tagsa ka network.
Suno kay Gatchalian, ang network lock wala lang nagalimit sa easy movement sang iban nga network kundi nagalimit man sa kumpetisyon sa iban nga industry players.
“The Network Freedom Act will ensure that the consumer’s right to choose the best service available on the market is protected,” ang pahayag ni Gatchalian.
Si Gatchalian ang chairman sang Senate committee on economic Affairs.
“Every mobile user should have the right to switch to other service providers that offer better deals. Unfortunately, the locking of devices prejudices this right.”
