The Bicol Bishops met at Primus Hotel in Naga City on January 10, 2019. They are from the Dioceses that comprise the Metropolitan See of Caceres.
Those who attended are (see from left of the first picture) Bishop Jose Rojas of Libmanan, Bishop Manolo de los Santos of Virac, Archbishop Rolando Tria Tirona of Caceres, Bishop-Elect Rex Andrew Alarcon of Daet, Bishop Arturo Bastes of Sorsogon and Bishop Joel Baylon of Legazpi. Not in the Picture are the Bishop of Masbate, Bishop Jose Bantolo and the retired bishops of Legazpi – Bishop Jose Sorra, Bishop Lucilo Quiambao and Bishop Nestor Cariño.
Fr. Rex Andrew Alarcon is the new Bishop elected by His Holiness Pope Francis as Bishop of Daet last January 2, 2019. He will be ordained to the Order of Bishops on March 19, 2019 at the Caceres Metropolitan Cathedral in Naga City.
The Metropolitan of Caceres comprises the six provinces of Bicol with seven Dioceses. It has 7 active and three retired bishops that serve in the Bicol Region.
The Bishops discussed the implementation of the Bicol Pastoral Coordinating Council and Bicol Clergy Security System as part of the realizations of the Bicol Clergy Congress in 2018.
