Tinanggap ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang public apology ng ABS-CBN kaugnay sa hindi pag-ere ng campaign advertisement niya at pagpapalabas ng negatibong political ad noong 2016 Presidential elections.
“Yes, nandiyan yan. I accept the apology of course,” tugon ni Digong sa isang ambush interview nitong Miyerkoles ng gabi.
Ayon pa sa commander-in-chief, hindi niya tatanggapin ang P2.6-million na ibabalik sana ng ABS-CBN.
Pinayuhan niya ang istasyon na i-donate na lamang ang pera sa kanilang mga charity.
Matatandaang humingi ng paumanhin si ABS-CBN President at CEO Carlo Katigbak kung sumama ang loob ng Presidente sa mga kontrobersiyal na political ad.
“We were sorry if we offended the President. That was not the intention of the network. We felt that we were just abiding by the laws and regulations that surround the airing of political ads,” saad ni Katigbak.
Samantala, nilinaw ni PRRD na nakasalalay sa Kongreso ang kapalaran ng prangkisa ng giant network na mapapaso sa Mayo 4.
“I leave it to Congress…The critical move is in the House and I tell you I am not going to interfere… I never, never, never really called anybody about this, even before. Wala akong kinausap na tao dito,” sabi pa ng Pangulo.
Hindi siya nagbigay ng konkretong sasagutin nang tanungin kung pipirmahan niya ang nasabing panukala.
