
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) formally handed over various medical devices and mobility aids to the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte during a turnover ceremony held at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City on April 20, 2026.
The activity was led by PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles, with Governor Darel Dexter Uy formally receiving the donated equipment on behalf of the provincial government and its constituents.
Aiming to strengthen the province’s capacity to respond to the healthcare needs of its population, the assistance provided by the PCSO included 20 safety preparedness kits, 20 glucometers, 20 blood pressure apparatus, 20 nebulizers, 20 oxygen tanks, 50 canes, 50 walkers, 50 crutches, and 50 wheelchairs.
The donated medical equipment and mobility aids are intended for utilization by hospitals, rural health units, and patients in need across Zamboanga del Norte, particularly senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and indigent beneficiaries, to help improve access to essential healthcare services and medical support.
Governor Uy expressed his gratitude to the PCSO for its continued commitment to promoting the health and welfare of the people of Zamboanga del Norte, underscoring the importance of sustained collaboration between national government agencies and local government units in addressing the healthcare needs of communities.
The activity forms part of PCSO’s ongoing initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, which aims to boost healthcare services and ensure that government assistance reaches communities throughout the country.\
