Pinababawi ni Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Chairperson Senator Cynthia Villar sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ang ibinigay na Environment Compliance Certificate (ECC) sa 320 na ektaryang Bacoor reclamation project.
Giit ni Villar, ito ay salungat sa P1.3 billion na Manila Bay rehabilitation project.
Diin pa ni Villar, ang nabanggit na proyekto ay magreresulta sa seryosong problema gaya ng pagwasak ng legislated protected area at matinding pagbaha sa mga komunidad na nakapaligid sa Manila Bay.
Tinukoy ni Villar na sa ilalim ng expanded National Integrated Protected Area Systems (NIPAS) Act, ang 175 ektaryang Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park ay naka-deklarang protected area at isa rin sa pitong (7) lugar sa Pilipinas na nakatala sa Wetland of International Importance ng Ramsar Convention.
