Philippine Red Cross Recognizes Women’s Role in Humanitarian Work

In celebration of Women’s Month, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) recognizes the important role of women in the organization’s humanitarian work. Women are integral members of the PRC workforce, serving as staff and volunteers in various capacities.

“The PRC is proud to have many women volunteers and staff who have dedicated themselves to serving their fellow Filipinos. Their contributions are invaluable, and we are grateful for their unwavering commitment to our mission,” said PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon.

The PRC acknowledges the contributions of women volunteers and staff who have dedicated their time and effort to providing humanitarian aid and assistance to those in need. Women make up a significant portion of the organization’s workforce and have played a crucial role in responding to emergencies and disasters in the Philippines.

The PRC is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women in all aspects of its operations. The organization provides training and development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of its female staff and volunteers. Additionally, the PRC encourages women to take on leadership roles and supports their participation in decision-making processes.

“The PRC recognizes the challenges that women face in their pursuit of humanitarian work. Women often juggle multiple responsibilities, including caring for their families and pursuing their careers. The organization is committed to providing support and assistance to women volunteers and staff to ensure that they are able to fulfill their roles effectively,” said PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn T. Pang.

As we celebrate Women’s Month, the PRC reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women in its humanitarian work. The organization recognizes the critical role that women play in building resilient communities and responding to emergencies and disasters.

We encourage more women to join us in our mission to alleviate human suffering and build a more resilient and sustainable future for all.
