Pinuna ni Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon ang P10-bilyon na rescue package pantulong sa mga distressed micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Ang nabanggit na salapi ay ilalaan sa Land Bank at Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) sa ilalim ng isinusulong na Government Financial Institutions Unified Initiatives (GFI) to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery o GUIDE Act.
Pero si Drilon, tinawag itong “joke” dahil napakaliit kumpara sa P19.5 billion na inilaang anti-insurgency fund ng pamahalaan.
Sa ilalim ng panukala, palalawakin ng Land Bank at DBP ang kanilang programang pautang para sa mga kwalipikadong MSMEs na labis na naapektuhan ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Pahihintulutan din ng panukala ang Land Bank at DBP na mag invest o pumasok sa joint venture sa mga special holding company para sa rehabilitasyon ng Strategically Important Companies.
“P10 billion as a rescue package is a joke, especially if we look at it in the context of 19.5 billion anti-insurgency fund which is to me a pork barrel. So Mr. Chairman i am convince that we need rescue package. Is 10 billion a serious package given the magnitude we are talking about,” sabi ni Sen. Drilon.
