Davao City – What price peace? What are we willing to give up in exchange for peace for our generation, in our land, in our time? Are we willing to meet halfway with our counterparts in the negotiating table, do away with our hardline stance in favor of achieving a meaningful peace accord and bring about change, reform and progress for all?

Kita kaha dinhi sa Pilipinas, mahidangat kaha ang panahon diin wala nay binakbakay sa mga combatants, nagkasinabot na ang tanan dili gumikan sa pag-surrender sa postura ug gibarugan apan pagpadaplin sa karaang gihambin nga ‘ismo’ haron mas ipalabaw ang interes sa mayoriyang nagmalinawon?
I believe the fulfillment of this elusive dream does not rest on this metrics or formula alone: It takes a really brave heart for one to listen to the other person’s point of view or his or her philosophy of life, even to forgive for the past hurts so that we can move on to a better future.
But we can only do that if we have a deeper sense of our own spirituality, a realization that apart from the peace of God, no man can ever establish lasting peace in the world because man’s heart is very fragile it can never make peace by its own self.
I believe that even the finest peace agreements crafted all over the world are doomed to fail from Day One if absent is the element of a higher, divine intervention.
