Si Mr. Emhoff ang itinalaga ni US President Joseph Biden Jr., na manguna sa delegasyon ng Estados Unidos na dadalo sa inagurasyon ni President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa June 30.
Si Emhoff ay sinalubong sa paliparan ni Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Assistant Secretary at Chief of Protocol Wilfredo Santos at US Embassy Charge d’ Affaires ad interim Heather Variava.
