#VintaPH: Threatens Palawan as it maintains strength

As of 11:00PM, 23 December 2017, Severe Tropical Storm #VintaPH (international name—Tembin) has made landfall in Balabac, Palawan.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains will prevail over Palawan, while scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rains is expected over the western section of Visayas and Mindanao within 24 hours. Residents of these areas must take appropriate actions against flooding and landslides, thus they must coordinate with their respective local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.
Pagasa said that sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of areas under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal, the southern seaboard of Mindoro Provinces, and the western seaboard of Zamboanga Peninsula, of Basilan, of Sulu and of Tawi-Tawi due to the Tropical Storm.
It may also intensify into a Typhoon before exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility between tomorrow (24 December) morning and afternoon.
Location of eye/center: At 10:00 PM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm #VintaPH was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Balabac, Palawan or at 285 km Southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (7.8°N, 117.1°E).
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of up to 105 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph.
Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West at 23 kph.
