iFM Laoag – The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) through its Chairman Atty. George Erwin Mojica Garcia led the consultative meeting with commissioners; Nelson J. Celis, Aimee P. Ferolino, Socorro B. Inting, Marlon S. Casquejo, Rey E. Bulay, and Ernesto Ferdinand Maceda, Jr., on June 15, 2023, Thursday.
Part of the agenda is the preparation of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections on October 30, 2023. Before that, filing of the certificate of candidacy is scheduled from August 28 to September 2.
Another part of its objectives is the voting guidelines for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) members, expanding voting venues in malls nationwide, persons deprived of liberty (PDL), and prioritization the differently-abled individuals and senior citizens that will vote at the early hour from 7 am-8 am (2 hours).
As of the writing time, there are 68.4 Million registered voters in the barangay and 23.4 Million registered voters for the sangguniang kabataan, while there are 491,000 multiple or double-entry registrants.
Meanwhile, around 605,307 public teachers will serve as electoral boards and will now receive honoraria amounting to Php10,000.00 each from Php6,000.00 and a separate training allowance. ### Bernardo B. Ver II, RMN News
