“Radio Mindanao Networks recognizes no higher authority than that of the national interest and no higher obligation than that of public service.”

– Henry R. Canoy

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The RMN Foundation (RMNF) was established on September 5, 2012 as the corporate social responsibility arm of RMN Networks, Inc., which is committed to support and cultivate humanitarian relationships that uplift the Filipino’s quality of life in every part of the Philippines. With a nationwide broadcasting strength of over 60 AM and FM owned and affiliated radio stations, the RMN Networks aims to only provide public service through the airwaves, but also in the most meaningful way directly to local audiences through the efforts of RMN Foundation.

The Foundation is a non-stock, non-profit organization that develops and implements programs to address the needs of the underprivileged and contribute to address the social problems in the country.

RMNF is a dynamic member of the Non-Profit Organization community. The Foundation is duly accredited by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC). RMNF is also a member of the Association of Foundations (AF), the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF), and the Philippine Coalition on Volunteerism (PHILCV).

The acknowledgment from these agencies and organizations is significant as it affirms the Foundation’s status as a non-profit organization that meets the principles of good governance, program effectiveness, thorough financial management, as well as the values of integrity, transparency and accountability. The accreditations also cover the better collaboration between the foundation, stakeholders, partners, government agencies, and donors. This enables the Foundation to do our work more proficiently.

The Foundation’s enterprises fall under four program pillars:

Radyo Edukasyon

Though the strength of the RMN Network’s radio broadcasting stations, the Foundation provides media support for various quality educational programs to reach the largest number of audiences across the country.

As of June 2020, RMN Cauayan in Isabela, in Luzon; RMN Butuan, in Agusan Del Norte; and RMN Koronadal in South Cotabato, both in Mindanao region are working in partnership with the Department of Education’s School Division Offices on said provinces. The radio-based instruction (RBI) program is an alternative and blended learning delivery mode using radio broadcast to deliver lessons. It will provide learners in the Division who opted for RBI as learning modality in the absence of face-to-face learning due to COVID-19 pandemic. RBI aims to provide learning opportunities to listeners and enables them to acquire equivalency in basic education through the broadcast of lessons.

Radyo Nutrisyon

The Foundation advocates sustainable health related programs, services and activities that support healthy lives and well-being of Filipinos.

The objective of the RMN Foundation’s Radyo Nutrisyon is to educate the general public on nutrition and the coping strategies to address poverty and hunger among poor households, specifically the drivers in poverty-reduction and hunger-mitigation efforts.

In addition, RMN’s nationwide radio stations over the years have kicked off several feeding programs to address malnutrition in our respective localities.

ReBerde

RMN Foundation promotes impactful environmental protection programs to benefit local communities where we live and operate.

The Foundation works closely with our local partners to craft partnerships that speak to the environmental sustainability objectives and shared commitment through tree planting projects in the areas where we operate and live. The trees being planted will diversify and restore the native vegetation and increase long-term ecosystem stability.

Oplan Tabang (Tulong or Help)

“Tabang” is the local dialect translation of the word “help” or “tulong” in the national Tagalog language. It is a fitting handle for the RMN Foundation’s relief program which provides assistance to those affected by natural or man-made disasters.

The Foundation has implemented through the years with the collective efforts of RMN’s nationwide Radio Stations from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao a disaster response and relief operation. To date, around thousands beneficiaries in our communities have received aid and support in the form of survival, health, and care kits.

Mission:
RMN Foundation endeavors to cultivate humanitarian relationships that will enhance the Filipinos’ quality of life by channeling aid, services, resources, social welfare programs and other assistance to the vulnerable and disadvantaged sector of the country, and to be a catalyst for the advancement of the society.

Vision:
Improving the Filipino’s quality of life through public service, nationwide.
