Last 29 December 2018, Tropical Depression Usman caused floods and landslides affecting Regions IV-A (Calabarzon), IV-B (Mimaropa), V (Bicol), and VIII (Eastern Visayas), with around 122 persons reported dead and an estimated 130,000 individuals affected. Four (4) provinces in the Bicol region were declared under the State of Calamity, including Camarines Sur and Naga City.
In Naga City alone, half of its 27 barangays were flooded, Barangay Calauag and Barangay Mabolo suffering the most.
In response to the needs of some of the residents of Naga, RMN Foundation, in coordination with RMN DWNX radio station, led by its Station Manager, Mr. Alfredo Ubana, in partnership with Metrobank Foundation and ACS Manufacturing Corporation, organized a Hygiene Kits Project on March 7, 2019 for 400 students of Bal-Flor Elementary School. Part of the program was a Talk on Proper Hygiene to complete the project.
Each student was provided a pouch of toiletries which includes toothpaste, toothbrush, bath soap, comb and face towel.
