A Decade of Dedication: The Ma. Corrina Canoy Feeding Program

 

As part of the tenth-year celebration, the Radio Mindanao Network Foundation (RMNF) organized a nationwide feeding program titled, The Ma. Corrina Canoy Feeding Program, and was conducted from September 5 to September 12, 2022, across all the stations of the RMN Network. 

This activity is in honor of the late Ma. Corrina Canoy, wife of the RMN Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Mr. Enrico O. Canoy, whose advocacy is to uplift the spirit and well-being of those who are in-need through self-sustaining nutritional feeding activities. It is also part of the Foundation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program pillar Radyo SustanSaya.

Across the country, each local RMN station planned and implemented their own version of the feeding program, bearing in mind the needs of their listeners and audiences to make the activity as meaningful as possible. 


iFM 103.9 Baguio, together with the interns from Isabela State University Main Campus and barangay officials, distributed rice porridge, bread and chicken to the 120 recipients including senior citizens, children and single mothers in Dontogan, Green Valley, Baguio City. They also distributed other goods from nationwide sponsor, ACS, and local sponsors such as Audrey Bread, Reanella Printshop, Go Global Immigration Advisory, Lannys Hair Salon, Jc EyeLashes, Imelda Zamora, and Sunshine Supermart. 

DYKR 1161 Kalibo distributed bread, buko juice and ACS Products to 100 recipients, specifically the tricycle drivers of the Briones Tricycle Terminal. DYVR 657 Roxas, distributed rice porridge, boiled eggs and pandesal to the pupils and parents of Barangay Libas Daycare Center. DXDR 981 Dipolog provided rice porridge and ACS products to the 110 recipients including the students and parents in National Highway Brgy. Turno, Dipolog City. 

iFM 93.9 Manila, together with DWWW 774, celebrated the RMN Foundation’s 10th year anniversary feeding activity at the FTI Terminal, Taguig City, wherein the group distributed macaroni soup, bread, biscuits, and RMN souvenir items to the 350 recipients including TODA, jeepney, bus drivers and commuters. Thanks to the support of the RMN Foundation partners and long-time sponsors such as the ACS Manufacturing Corporation which provided hygiene products of Unique toothpaste and Shield bath soap. Also, Maynilad provided bottled drinking water, and Fooodgas donated hotdog sandwiches.

DWKD iFM 98.5 Cauayan gave rice porridge to the 300 recipients including the children and underprivileged individuals in Barangay Bana-uy, Cauayan City Isabela. The team also conducted the same activity in San Francisco Elementary School – Annex with 63 elementary students from Grade 1 to 6 last September 9. Aside from the rice porridge, they also distributed ACS products and with the help of the City Nutrition Office of LGU Cauayan, PNP and other sponsors.

DXPR 603 Pagadian distributed packed lunches and ACS products to the children and adult constituents of Barangay Tawagan Sur, with a total of 350 recipients. They also ran a libreng gupit and libreng masahe, together with their partners – the First Field Artillery Battalion Philippine Army, First Cavalry Tagapunguna Battalion, Tactical Operations Group 9, Pagadian City Airport Police, DXPR RadyoMan Fans Club, and Philippine Information Agency-9. 

DXMD 927 AM and iFM 91.9 Gensan joined forces in celebrating the RMN Foundation’s 10th year anniversary by distributing rice porridge, juices and ACS Products to the 1,000 students of Banisil Elementary School. 

DZXL 558 Manila Radyo Trabaho Team distributed rice porridge, boiled eggs, cakes, bottled water, and ACS products in Barangay Rizal Covered Court, Makati City. 550 recipients including street children, students, parents, and senior citizens benefited from the activity. The activity was in partnership with the Villar-run SIPAG, Maynilad Water Services, Inc., Del Monte, and ACS Manufacturing Corporation.

DWNX 1611 Naga distributed special beef rice porridge, maligaya bread, bottled water and ACS products to the 425 recipients including students and parents in the Covered Court of Barangay Triangulo, Naga City. Together with their partners and sponsors such as the SM City Naga, the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), La Familia Eagles Club, La Familia Elite Eagles Club, and La Familia Pusog Eagles Club.

DXIC 711 RMN Iligan distributed spaghetti, breads, and juices to the 455 residents in Vista Village Dalipuga Iligan City, together with Pilmico Foods. 

In an interview with Ms. Rhoda Navarro, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager of the Radio Mindanao Network Foundation, Inc., she stated that the “Ma. Corrina Canoy Feeding Program” will be an annual anniversary activity of the RMN Foundation under the Radyo SustaSaya CSR program pillar through the collaborative efforts of the RMN network stations. The program aims to promote nutritional food, augment malnutrition and supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) SDG2-Zero Hunger and SDG3-Good Health and Well Being.
