i Lokal presents John Leo Vergara or popularly known as Johnvergz. He is a member of Art Form Productions, Filscap, and currently joining Mindanao Singer Song Writers’ group.
He has been writing songs since high school, 13 years ago, but those were rap songs. Then, he developed his passion for playing the guitar.
His first public appearance as a performer was in Makati, 3 years ago. He sang his own songs. That performance made him crave for more. “I could not stop the feeling of going and looking for opportunities and events just to be able to perform my own piece” Johnvergz said.
Folk melancholic alternative rock is the genre of his songs. This is all because of his influences, perhaps. Influences: Bread, Englandan, America, Beatles, Aerosmith, Siakol, Eraserheads, Rivermaya, Yano, Parokya.
These folk song players : Jim Cross, James Taylor, Simon Garfunkel are the reason why he loves playing guitar. “I can play the guitar either through my left or right hand. I am a little bit advance in playing the piano, drums, and violin as well” He added.
