Nais daw ng mga consumers mula Iloilo na agarang aksiyon at atensiyon dito ng Pangulong Duterte.
Maliban dito, susubukan din umanong magpapasaklolo ng mga Iloilo consumers sa Supreme Court (SC), na siyang ultimate judicial body na kayang magresolba sa ownership ng power utility na posibleng tumapos sa umano’y walang katapusang service interruptions at electric bills na nadoble habang ang iba ay mali pero bigo ang More Power na magpaliwanag hinggil dito.
“Iloilo is dying and needs the help of President Duterte and the Supreme Court. The lights are out in Iloilo because of MORE Power. Their long and frequent brownouts are killing our businesses and livelihoods, and they are disrupting our essential medical services most especially, we need the President to intervene, so he can keep a watchful eye on those who would exploit us,” ani Ruperto Supena, chairman ng Koalisyon Bantay Kuryente (KBK) sa Iloilo City.
Iginiit naman ni KBK Coordinator Jose Allen Aquino na ang kanilang hiling sa Congress sa agarang imbestigasyon sa nararanasang brownouts sa area at ang kanilang pagkalap ng mga impormasyon at consumer-complaints ay ang ilalakip nilang ebidensiya para maging basehan sa mga imbestigasyon na isasagawa ng legislative branch.
Hiniling din ni Supena sa Congress na reviewhin ang franchise na ipinagkaloob nila sa More Power.
“There is still time for Congress to change its mind on granting that franchise to MORE given the technical incompetence they have been exhibiting in their provision of service to Iloilo consumers,” dagdag ni Supena.
Nanawagan din itong makialam na ang iba pang national government agencies kabilang na ang Department of Energy (DOE) at Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
