PDEA nabs pusher in Sibugay


A suspected drug pusher was arrested by PDEA agents and policemen in barangay Dacanay, Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay last Monday morning.

PDEA Regional Director Lyndon Aspacio, CESE identified the suspect as Tomas Awid y Ligutom, 40, married, LGU’s auxiliary aide and a resident of the same place.

Aspacio said that Awid was listed in number 7 drug personality in Siay municipality.

PDEA agents recovered three sachets of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.



The suspect was taken to the PDEA headquarter in Zamboanga Sibugay while the seized items were turned over to their laboratory for examinations.


The suspect will be charged for violations of sections 5 and 11 of the Republic Act 9165. – Dan Toribio

Bizman shot, wounded

A businessman was shot and wounded by a lone gunman inside his pharmacy in Tomas Claudio Street, Zamboanga City Friday morning.

Police identified the victim as Gerard Nathaniel Ruste Reyes Yuking, 40. He sustained a slight bullet wound in the stomach and was taken to the hospital.

A report from Zamboanga City Police Office disclosed that Yuking was tending his pharmacy named Alright Drug and Chinese Pharmacy around 10:30 a.m. when the gunman wearing a jacket with eyeglass while his face was covered with handkerchief appeared and suddenly shot him once.

The gunman then left the place and disappeared amid the crowd.

The victim then was taken to a private hospital for treatment.

PO3 Anwar Edding said that investigation was still ongoing as they have gathered some information that would lead to the arrest of the gunman. – Dan Toribio

Gas tank explodes, worker injured

An employee of a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) outlet store was wounded after a small defective gas tank exploded in barangay Putik, Zamboanga City Friday afternoon.

The victim was identified Rafael Isulan, who sustained burns and injury in the body. He was rushed to a private hospital.

Initial investigation showed that an unidentified customer brought a defective gas tank to the LPG outlet to fix and reload.

However while Isulan was attending the store, the gas tank suddenly exploded injuring Isulan.

The victim was rushed to the hospital while the incident was reported to the police.

The incident was responded by policemen of the Divisoria Police Station and a fire truck.—Dan Toribio
