PCSO DIGIT GAMES ROLL BACK TO P10

Effective July 15, 2021, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will revert the price of Digit games lotto tickets from P12 to P10.

It can be recalled that in July 2018, the agency increased the digit games lotto ticket price from P10 to P12 to comply with the implementation of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law. As such, the increase is 20 percent higher due to the imposed documentary stamp (DST).

The price reduction, based on the study and analysis made by the PCSO Gaming and Technology Department, is expected to come up with a viable and sustainable outcome.

“We restructured the price based on the suggestions of our agents and gaming public. The reduced digit games price will make PCSO gaming public more chances to enjoy, to play and more chances of winnings,” PCSO General Manager Royina Marzan-Garma said.

The decrease in price of digit games is very timely since most of the PCSO gaming public lost their livelihoods due to the serious impact of COVID-19 pandemic. Some digit games players shifted to playing STL or other illegal gambling operations, because of lower play costs and higher winnings

Moreover, the revision is seen to attract more lotto players to play and buy lotto tickets that may result in higher revenue collection for the agency because increase revenue from ticket sales will enable PCSO to help more Filipinos  in dire need of help through the Charity Programs of the Agency.

PCSO reiterated that the ticket price reduction would not affect the number of prizes and prize structures.

Sales commission awaits agents for jackpot-bearing games; they will get 7.5-percent sales commission, while 5-percent for Digit Games and Keno; and 10-percent for Scratch Cards.
