RMN Foundation and Refinitiv Philippines Unified Relief Operation: Luzon Oplan Tabang

Last December 2020, the RMN Foundation, Inc., (Foundation), the corporate social responsibility arm of Radio Mindanao Network, Inc., (Network), joined forces with Refinitiv Philippines for Oplan Tabang Disaster Relief Program to provide aid and support to our kababayans in the Luzon province who were severely impacted by Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses.

The relief distribution was implemented from the 14th to 21st of December 2020, which benefited seven hundred twenty (720) family beneficiaries from six (6) barangays from both Isabela and Naga, namely:

  • Barangays Mabolo, Tabuco and Triangulo, Naga
  • Barangays Carabatan, Chica and District 3, Cauayan, Isabela

The distribution of holiday food packs (noodles, canned goods, bread, and drinking water) were accomplished through RMN radio networks in Cauayan, Isabela, and in Naga, Camarines Sur, together with RMN employees and local volunteers. Oplan Tabang was also supported by the Department of Social Works and Development (DSWD) regional staff and the local government units.

Oplan Tabang (Tulong or Help) Disaster Relief and Response Program: “Tabang” is the local Visayan dialect translation of the word “help” or “tulong” in the national Tagalog language. It is a fitting handle for the RMN Foundation’s relief program which provides assistance to those affected by natural or man-made disasters.
