“As stewards of God’s creation, we are called to make the earth a beautiful garden for the human family. When we destroy our forests, ravage our soil and pollute our seas, we betray that noble calling.” —Pope Francis’ speech, Manila, Philippines, January 18, 2015
This earth, is our home. Everyday, this home of ours, the only one we’ve got, is becoming filthy that it is turning into unhealthy place to live in.
Each of us has the duty to make it livable again the way it was created. We, at RMN Foundation, in partnership with RMN DYHB and iFM Bacolod, E. B. Magalona local government, DENR, DepEd, Barangay Health Workers and PNP, worked together in a tree-planting project called, “Reverde Ako,” (I Do Regreening), last June 15, 2018 in Barangays Tuburan and Nanca, E. B. Magalona, Negros Occidental. We were able to plant 1,600 mangrove and fruit-bearing trees in those areas. This project is in support to the on-going campaign of DENR in creating a greener and healthier environment for us and for the next generations to come.
Can we please do our share by doing little things (i.e., put the candy wrapper in the trash bin, water the plants in our house, pick-up the trash at work, etc.)
