Wala nadala ang Davao City sa pagpatuman sang jeepney modernization program sa masunod nga tuig.
Naghisugot si Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio kag and Transportation and Franchise Regulatory Board (LTFRB) nga i-excuse ang Davao sa plano nga jeepney modernization program.
Ini bangod ang syudad magapatuman sang una nga mass transport system paagi sa high priority bus system (HPBS).
“Sa Davao City, ginaingon nako nga unya na ta mag jeepney modernization after maimplement ang HPBS so that ang mabilin na jeep ang mag organize (I asked the LTFRB to delay the modernization of the jeepneys after we implement the bus system so that those jeepney operators who do not take part in the program could organize it themselves),” ang pahayag ni Duterte.
Sa idalom sang HPBS, ang mga jeepney operators mahimo pa nga makabaligya sang ila mga daan nga salakyan sa ginabanta P80,000, depense sa presyo sang scrap metal.
Kabahin sang programa ngamaka- investment ang operator kag mahimo nga mangin stake holder sang ginapropose nga bus system.
“It’s very unfair sa jeepney drivers (to require them to) nga irequire sila nga mag comply sa jeep modernization and then six months later to tell them ‘ibaligya na ninyo sa amoa for scrappage (sell your jeepneys to us for scraps).’”
