ECC increases cash assistance applications thru ECCADS to 500

The Employees’ Compensation Commission has recently increased its ECC Cash Assistance Digital System (ECCADS) application slots from 100 to 500 daily in response to the growing number of workers who contracted work-related covid19.

In a statement, ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis said that the ECC shall continue to receive applications until the end of the year. However, applications received that cannot be covered under this year’s budget shall be processed but the cash assistance shall be released in CY 2022.

“We ask the public to be more patient in waiting for their cash assistance as we are currently receiving voluminous number of applications. Rest assured that our office is doing its best to accommodate and process all applications received,” said Banawis.

The ECCADS online application is available from 8 am to 5 pm during weekdays. Applicants must ensure the completeness and correctness of documents to be uploaded before logging in to the system. Requirements include a copy of the claimant’s approved EC claim voucher due to covid19 from Social Security System (SSS) or Government Service Insurance System (GSIS); copy of two valid IDs, preferably Office or Company ID, GSIS/SSS UMID card or other government-issued ID; and Medical Abstract or Certificate for covid19 illness indicating the period of medical attendance of illness or Laboratory (RT-PCR/Rapid Antigen) test result showing positive results for covid19 issued by a DOH accredited testing center. Once the application is successfully submitted, applicants must take note of their control number to monitor the progress of their online application.

Early this year, the ECC also issued a board resolution increasing its current cash assistance of ₱10,000.00 to ₱30,000 for workers in the private and public sectors who contracted covid19 because of work which will already be processed and released by the SSS and GSIS together with the employees’ EC benefit due to covid19. Once this resolution is approved by the Office of the President, employees will no longer apply separately for the cash assistance at the ECC. Upon approval of the Office of the President, the EC benefits and EC cash assistance shall be a top up to the approved EC benefit processed at the GSIS for public sector employees and at the SSS for private sector employees.
