Ilocos Norte champs Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign with 98% Conviction Rate

#iFMNewsLaoag – The Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) announced that several cases have been filed against drug suspects in court, with 98% of them being convicted of the crime.

Colonel Frederick Obar, the Police Provincial Director, shared real numbers during the 101st regular session of the Ilocos Norte Board. The PNP’s operations resulted in the seizure of dangerous drugs, including 264.414 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or ‘shabu’, 1,815.4435 kilograms of dried marijuana, and 21,900 pieces of marijuana plants, with a total value of over 40 million pesos.

Out of 559 barangays, only 52 have not yet been cleared of illegal drug activity in Ilocos Norte. However, the Provincial Government, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Department of the Interior, and the Local Government are working together to achieve an Illegal-Drug-Free Province. ### Bernard Ver, IFM News LAOAG
