Police Colonel Romeo A Baleros, Provincial Director has assured the tribal leaders and members of different Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Negros Occidental that they are protected by the PNP, during a Covenant Signing at Nature’s Village Resort on August 27, 2019.
The covenant signing for E.O. No. 19 s. 2019 Indigenous People- Provincial Inter Agency Committee (IP PIAC) participated in by NOCPPO top cop was conducted to establish mechanisms to ensure efficient delivery of services to the IPs.
PD Baleros in an interview expressed that the IPs living in far flung areas are considered vulnerable to NPA recruitment as they exploit so many social issues such as delivery of basic services.
We want our IP Brothers and sisters to feel the presence of the government, that they are secured and protected, said PD Baleros.
