The Radio Mindanao Network Foundation (RMNF) continues to be of service as it joins the effort of saving lives through the annual blood donation drive in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on August 1st, 2022, simultaneously held at the DZXL Radyo Trabaho and the Radio Mindanao Networks (RMN) Head Office.
As RMN Networks celebrates its 70th founding anniversary, its corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm, RMNF, held a bloodletting activity under the CSR program pillar Radyo SustanSaya with the theme “Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives”. The project managed to collect a total of 9,000ml blood bags through the help of volunteer employees from the RMN Marketing Media Ventures, DZXL Radyo Trabaho, iFM Manila, and DWWW 774.
The project encourages employees to participate in the Foundation’s initiative as it has been proven to have significant health advantages such as (a) helpful to vital organs like the heart and the red blood cells, and (b) beneficial to prevent and reduce chronic diseases such as stroke and cancer; in addition to helping meet the increasing demand of blood especially amidst the post COVID-19 pandemic.
“It makes me feel good knowing that by donating my blood, I may be able to save not just one life, but as many as three lives.” Said by Ms. Lea Jhen Cleofe, one of the employee volunteer donors.
The Foundation pledged to keep advocating sustainable health related activities that support healthy lives and well-being of Filipinos. The Foundation is set to schedule another bloodletting activity by the first quarter of 2023.
For those who are in need of blood, you can contact PRC directly by dialing 143 or visit the nearest PRC office and present a blood request or doctor’s request.
