SIM Registration sa malalayong lugar, pinaigting ng NTC

Pinaigting ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ang pagpapatupad ng SIM Registration Act sa lahat ng rehiyon sa bansa lalo na sa mga malalayong lugar.

Naglagay ng remote registration sites ang NTC sa mga rehiyon sa bansa para mapuntahan ng mga residenteng nahihirapang makapagparehistro ng SIM.

Narito ang mga lugar kung saan itinayo ang remote registration sites:


– Municipal auditorium, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Region I

– Camalaniugan Sports Complex, Cagayan, Region II

– Calumpit municipal covered court, Bulacan, Region III

– Luancing covered court, Batangas, Region IV-A

– Sta. Rosa 1 covered court, Baco, Oriental Mindoro, Region IV-B

– Barangay Paulba multipurpose covered court, Ligao, Albay, Region V;

– Carles covered gym, Iloilo, Region VI

– Moalboal covered gymnasium, Cebu, Region VII

– Palo municipal gym, Leyte, Region VIII

– Atok basketball court, Benguet, Cordillera Administrative Region

– Barangay Arena Blanco multipurpose covered court, Zamboanga del Sur, Region IX

– Pangantucan municipal gymnasium, Bukidnon, Region X

– Malalag covered court, Davao del Sur, Region XI

– MDDRM office, Arakan municipal hall, Cotabato, Region XII

– Tagbina municipal gym, Surigao del Sur, Region XIII

Ayon kay NTC Officer-in-Charge Commissioner Ella Blanca B. Lopez ito ay para masigurong magiging matagumpay ang unag priority legislation ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.

Katuwang ang mga telcos at iba pang ahensya ng pamahalaan sinisiguro ng NTC na na maayos na nakapagsasagawa ng SIM Registration sa mga liblib na lugar.

Sa pagpili ng mga remote area na pinaglagyan ng registration sites kabilang sa kinunsidera ang telecommunications o internet access sa lugar, bilang ng Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Area (GIDA) barangays at bilang ng populasyon.

Matapos ito ay nagsagawa ng feasibility study ang regional offices ng NTC at kabilang sa tinukoy ang access ng mga libli na lugar sa mga regional centers, availability ng land transportation, at ang pakikiisa ng concerned Local Government Unit (LGU).

Tumulong din ang mga telco sa pagtukoy ng ng remote areas sa pamamagitan ng pagkunsidera sa availability ng network, availability ng manpower at budget para sa aktibidad.

“The endeavor is aimed at maximizing SIM subscriber participation in the SIM Registration process, thereby helping ensure the successful implementation of the SIM Registration Act.” ayon kay Lopez.

Nagpasalamat naman si Lopez sa pakikipagtulungan ng mga LGU at ng mga miyembro ng Inter-Agency Ad Hoc Committee on the Facilitation of SIM Registration in Remote Areas.

Kabilang sa mga miyembro ng komite ang Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Interior and Local Government, the Department of Education, Department of Public Works and Highways, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, National Privacy Commission at ang Philippine Information Agency.
