(Manila, Philippines, June 14, 2021) In observance of World Radio Day, celebrated every 13th day of February, RMN Foundation, Inc., launched the “One Radio” campaign. This movement is part of the “Radyo Edukasyon” program of the RMN Foundation, under its Corporate Social Responsibility pillar.
As the pandemic continues to hinder the educational support for students, the campaign is focused on highlighting the importance of radio in information dissemination through its accessibility and far reach. Radio sets would be distributed for free to all deserving and indigent families and communities in the Philippines.
“The One Radio program means a great deal to the Foundation. We know that there are communities out there who rely heavily on radio to receive needed information, especially during these trying times when access to information is limited. We are delighted to give the support of the RMN Network and are mindful of the needs of our fellow Filipinos around the country,” said RMN’s President and Chairman, Eric S. Canoy.
This month, the Foundation through RMN stations in key cities such as Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Cotabato, General Santos, Iloilo, Kalibo, Naga, and Zamboanga distributed hundreds of solar radio sets in various communities to hear the latest news and information.
Last February, the Foundation successfully awarded radio units through an online contest across different provinces in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Winners were announced on the official RMN and iFM local stations on their respective Facebook pages with the hashtags #RMNOneRadio, #WorldRadioDay2021, and #IsangBayanIsangRadyo.
– Jennelane Hierro of Baguio City. Winner of One Radio last March.
Kaya naman happy world radyo day po sating lahat…. God bless and more power. – Joy Estrada of Dagupan City, Pangasinan. Winner of One Radio last February.
Radyo Edukasyon: Established when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country and the lack of face-to-face education became a concern for a number of students, the Radyo Edukasyon pillar of the Foundation provided media support for various quality educational programs to reach the largest number of audiences through the strength of the RMN networks’ radio broadcasting stations.
