Imumungkahi ni House Committee on Justice Chairperson at Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro ang pagkuha ng mga pribadong abogado sakaling matuloy ang impeachment trial laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Ayon kay Luistro, ang pagkuha ng mga batikang private litigators ay tiyak magpapalakas sa prosecution team ng kamara sa oras na makarating sa Senate impeachment court ang impeachment case ni VP Sara.
Aminado si Luistro na ang mga abogadong mambabatas ngayon ay hindi na updated ukol sa paglilitis habang ang defense team na kanilang makakaharap sa impeachment trial ay bubuuin ng mga abogadong bihasa pagdating sa litigation.
Binanggit ni Luistro na 11 ang miyembro ng prosecution team at maaring mapabilang dito ang mga prosecutors sa impeachment noong 19th Congress tulad nina Manila Representative Joel Chua, San Juan City Representative Ysabel Maria Zamora, Bukidnon Representative Jonathan Keith Flores at 1-Rider Party-list Representative Rodge Gutierrez.
Sabi ni Luistro, posible ring ikonsidera sina Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Representative Leila de Lima, Akbayan Representative Chel Diokno, Bicol Saro Representative Terry Ridon at Cagayan de Oro Representative Jordan Suan.
Nilinaw naman ni Luistro na hindi awtomatiko ang kanyang partisipasyon bilang prosecutor kahit siya ang chairperson ng Justice Committee dahil ang bubuo sa panel of prosecutors ay ihahalal sa plenaryo.
