LLORENTE, EASTERN SAMAR – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) successfully conducted a Medical and Dental Mission (MDM) on May 19, 2026, in response to a request from Congressman Marcelino “Nonoy” Libanan, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and 4Ps party-list representative, with the participation of Congressman Christopher Sheen Gonzales, Assistant Minority Leader representing the lone district of Eastern Samar.
The initiative was held in celebration of Llorente’s 175th founding anniversary, bringing essential healthcare services directly to the community.
Led by Dr. Rouel Aparato and Dr. Juliet Diaz, together with the dedicated medical team from the PCSO Medical Services Department, the mission aimed to provide timely and much-needed healthcare assistance to Waray residents, particularly those with limited access to medical and dental services.
Llorente Mayor Christine Cardona expressed her heartfelt appreciation to PCSO for its continued support and compassion toward the municipality. She highlighted the program’s significance in addressing the healthcare needs of workers, families, and underserved sectors who have long awaited such services.
During the mission, a total of 130 individuals received medical consultations, 69 patients underwent dental check-ups, and 25 beneficiaries availed of electrocardiogram (ECG) services.

The activity provided immediate relief and renewed hope to residents, especially those belonging to vulnerable communities. Beyond delivering essential healthcare services, the mission also reinforced the importance of preventive care and early medical intervention.
Through this initiative, PCSO reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to improving access to healthcare and enhancing the well-being of Filipino communities.
