In a continuing effort to bring essential medical support closer to communities, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over 10 wheelchairs to beneficiaries from Barangay San Bartolome, District V, Quezon City on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Representing PCSO, Atty. Maria Katrina Nicole Contacto-Ventanilla led the turnover ceremony held at the Office of the General Manager in Mandaluyong City. The wheelchairs were formally received by Barangay Secretary Vega Ave Maria Chavez on behalf of the local government unit.
The donated mobility aids are intended to support senior citizens and persons with disabilities within the barangay, sectors that often face challenges in accessing basic healthcare and mobility resources. With these wheelchairs, beneficiaries are expected to experience improved independence and easier access to medical services.
This initiative was conducted as part of PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which focuses on extending medical assistance to grassroots communities across the country. By directly addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, the agency reinforces its commitment to inclusive healthcare and social welfare.
Through programs like this, PCSO continues to bridge gaps in public health access, ensuring that even at the barangay level, Filipinos receive the support they need to lead more dignified and empowered lives.
