
MANDALUYONG CITY — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) formally turned over nearly ₱2 billion in mandatory contributions on July 16, 2026, reaffirming its vital role in supporting the government’s healthcare system and key nation-building programs through the proceeds of its gaming operations.
Leading the ceremonial turnover at the PCSO Main Office were General Manager Melquiades Robles and Chairperson Felix Reyes.
The largest portion of the remittance, amounting to ₱1,935,582,784.67, was turned over to the Bureau of the Treasury for the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Program through PhilHealth. The amount represents the agency’s mandatory contributions covering the fourth quarter of Calendar Year 2025 and the first and second quarters of Calendar Year 2026. The contribution was received by PhilHealth Senior Vice President for the Fund Management Sector Renato L. Limsiaco, Jr.
The ceremony also included the turnover of ₱29,750,224.98 in mandatory contributions to other beneficiary institutions mandated by law. The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) received ₱28,430,825.70, while the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) was granted ₱518,354.49. The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) received ₱248,819.21, and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) was allotted ₱801,044.79.

Representing the recipient agencies during the ceremony were Dangerous Drugs Board Undersecretary Earl Saavedra, Philippine Red Cross Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang, Girl Scouts of the Philippines Communications Director Francia B. Rama, and Philippine Sports Commission Commissioner Edward L. Hayco.
In total, the PCSO turned over ₱1,965,333,009.65 in mandatory contributions, highlighting the agency’s continuing commitment to ensuring that revenues generated from its gaming operations directly support healthcare, public welfare, sports development, youth programs, disaster response, and other essential government services.
The turnover underscores the PCSO’s mandate of transforming gaming revenues into meaningful public service, demonstrating that every ticket purchased contributes to programs that benefit millions of Filipinos across the country.
