Philippine Red Cross, renews MOU with Radio Mindanao Network

Promoting wider participation of volunteerism for national development, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Radio Mindanao Network Foundation, Inc. during a virtual event last December 6, 2021.

” RMN is a very dependable organization as you have so much experience in the field of public service. We are extremely happy to be your partner by way of you promoting our events and activities,” PRC Secretary General Elizabeth Zavalla said.

“We are indeed grateful for the commitment of RMN to help disseminate the work, activities, and services of the PRC. The PRC is proud that it is doing a lot for other people, it is everywhere, from responding to different disasters to addressing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whenever there is an emergency, we have our 143 volunteers on the ground in each community, ready to reach out,” Zavalla emphasized.

“Lagi po namin tatandaan, sasabihan po namin sa aming 103 chapters nariyan ang RMN foundation sa community ninyo, kasama natin na patuloy na maglilingkod upang ipararating sa tao na ang lahat ng ginagawa natin at kung paano pa tayo makakatulong sa kanila,” Zavalla said.

“So to RMN foundation, and to the Canoy family, the PRC could not thank you enough for the support,” said Zavalla. With the renewal of the MOU, RMN will help the PRC in promoting the humanitarian organization’s 75th anniversary on April 15, 2022, and the Million Volunteer Run 6 from January to February 2022. “Sana po magpatuloy pa natin itong gawin every year o dirediretso na para po talaga makapagbigay po tayo ng service to the public,” Zavalla adds.

Apart from the MOU signing event, the PRC and RMN conducted a bloodletting activity with the theme,” Voluntary blood donation to save a nation.” Conducted at the RMN headquarters and Quezon City office, the activity aimed to collect blood from over 31 individuals in an effort to save more lives. RMN has previously partnered with PRC Blood Services twice this year collecting blood from 40 donors last February 11 and 15, 2021.

Present in the event were PRC Secretary General Elizabeth Zavalla, PRC ssistant Secretary-General Dr. Monina Nalupta, and RMN Executive Vice President and Chief operating officer, RMN-MMV, Erika Marie Canoy-Sanchez.
