PCSO Extends CSR Aid to 3 Municipalities in Mountain Province

MANDALUYONG CITY – Three municipalities in Mountain Province received various forms of assistance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) during a turnover ceremony held at the agency’s main office in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday, August 4,2026.

The turnover ceremony was led by PCSO Chairperson Retired Judge Felix P. Reyes and Director Jennifer E. Liongson-Guevara, who formally handed over the assistance under the agency’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program. The program aims to provide immediate support and essential services to communities across the country through partnerships with local government units.

Also present during the ceremony was Mountain Province Representative Maximo Dalog Jr., who witnessed the distribution of various aid packages and equipment to the beneficiary municipalities.

Among the recipients were the municipalities of Barlig and Besao, represented by Mayor Clark Ngaya and Mayor Bryne Bacwaden, respectively. The two local government units received a range of mobility aids, including wheelchairs, canes, crutches, and walkers intended to assist senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and other residents requiring mobility support within their communities.

In addition to the mobility aids, both municipalities were provided with evacuation kits that can be utilized during natural disasters and emergency situations. They also received various medical devices, including blood pressure (BP) apparatuses, pulse oximeters, glucometers, thermal scanners, and oxygen tanks. These medical supplies and equipment are expected to strengthen local healthcare services and improve access to basic medical assistance for residents.

Meanwhile, Evangeline Amangran, representing Mayor Robert B. Wanawan of the Municipality of Sadanga, received several ChariTimba from the PCSO. The ChariTimba packages contain food assistance and other essential relief items designed to support communities, particularly during times of crisis. Sadanga also received evacuation kits that will help enhance the municipality’s disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities.

The distribution of assistance forms part of the agency’s continuing implementation of its CSR Program, which seeks to extend support to local government units and underserved communities throughout the Philippines. Through this initiative, the agency aims to promote community welfare and contribute to the improvement of public services at the local level.

Representatives from the recipient municipalities expressed their gratitude to the PCSO for its continued assistance and partnership. They highlighted the significant impact of the donated equipment and supplies on their efforts to enhance healthcare services, support vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens and persons with disabilities, and improve their overall readiness for emergencies and calamities.

Through programs such as these, the PCSO continues to reaffirm its commitment to helping improve the lives of Filipinos by providing meaningful assistance to communities and strengthening the capabilities of local government units nationwide. The agency remains steadfast in its mission of bringing essential services closer to the people and contributing to the development of more resilient, healthy, and self-sufficient communities across the country.
