MANILA, Philippines — In a solid commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible waste management, Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) successfully completed the proper disposal of thousands of promo entries from the ACS Kwarta Extravaganza 2025 campaign.
In partnership with Republic Cement through its tofficial resource recovery arm of ecoloop, RMN safely disposed of a total of 93 sacks of promo entries of our Manila Stations, namely iFM Manila, DZXL Manila, and DWWW, on April 23, 2025, at the Republic Cement Teresa Plant in Rizal.
Rather than sending the massive volume of paper waste to landfills, the initiative utilized an eco-friendly approach known as co-processing—ensuring that the materials were completely destroyed while contributing to a circular economy.
Witnessing Sustainability in Action
Members of the RMN Integrated New Media team were present at the Teresa Plant to witness the actual disposal process firsthand. The team participated in an educational seminar led by Engr. Jeffrey Dolor, Republic Cement Teresa Plant Production Manager,, explained the science, safety, and environmental benefits behind ecoloop’s operations.
Following the quick seminar, the RMN team was given an exclusive tour of the facility, allowing them to see how qualified waste materials are transformed into alternative fuels and raw materials for cement production.
Why Co-Processing?
Co-processing is the thermal destruction and recovery of thermal or mineral properties of qualified waste materials while simultaneously manufacturing cement in a single combined operation.
Did you know? As a waste recovery method, co-processing is highly preferred over traditional disposal methods like landfilling or standard incineration. It operates at extremely high temperatures, ensuring complete, emission-compliant destruction of waste with zero residual ash.
Through this method, the 93 sacks of RMN promo entries were completely recycled into energy, effectively reducing reliance on fossil fuels in the cement manufacturing process.
